Laser Hair Removal in Coral Gables

We offer laser hair removal services in our Coral Gables hair salon where we feature the Gentle YAG Candela Laser. This is one of the fastest most powerful lasers on the market today.

GentleYAG laser hair removal can be used for any area of the skin which has unwanted hair, including the face, neck, chest, back, bikini area, underarms, arms and legs.

This laser procedure may be used on women and men, and from teenagers to seniors. Any skin type may be treated including Asian and African American skin types. The hair must be pigmented, either brown or black. Because the laser targets pigment, blonde and gray hairs cannot be removed with the GentleYAG.

Why did we choose GentleYAG for our Coral Gables Hair Salon?

·         Because it’s powerful

26,333 watts of peak power and capable of delivering fluences up to 600 J/cm2 for vascular applications, and hair removal energies in pulse durations as short as 3ms for unparalleled treatment efficacies, especially finer hairs.

·         Because it’s versatile

Non-ablative treatment, including fine lines and wrinkles, and for pseudofolliculitis barbae (PFB), or beard bumps, leg and facial spider veins.

·         Because it treats all skin types

Deep penetration with minimal scattering of laser energy makes the GentleYAG ideal for all skin types, especially dark and tanned skin.

Does laser hair removal hurt? When the laser is applied to the skin, customers feel some stinging, similar in sensation to a little pinch on your skin. We apply an anesthetic cream to the area being treated for 30 minutes prior to the procedure. This ensures your comfort during the treatment.

After the customer has had the topical anesthetic cream on for 30 minutes, a cool gel is applied to the area being treated. Dark glasses are worn to protect the customer’s eyes from the light. With the customer in a comfortable, relaxed position, the GentleYAG hand piece is applied to the skin.

How long does it take? The length of the treatment varies, from fifteen minutes to an hour or more, depending on which area is being treated.

In general, customers have two to six treatments, approximately every four to six weeks. Customers with darker skin types may require more treatments.

What will my skin look like afterwards? The appearance of the skin after using the GentleYAG Laser varies from customer to customer, depending on their skin type and area treated. Most customers report experiencing redness and some swelling of the treated area with mild discomfort similar to the sensation of a light sunburn. This may last from an hour to a day. Hair from the treated area may shed. You should be able to return to your usual activities right away.

Cold compresses applied to the treated area help to reduce redness, swelling and discomfort. Customers may shave carefully as soon as the day after their treatment. Customers notice that treated hairs will shed during the week or two following treatment. Gradually, it becomes apparent that some hairs are not re-growing while others are finer.

It is important to protect all your skin from the sun using a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher every day as well as sun protective clothing.

The GentleYAG Laser causes significant hair reduction in the areas treated. After two to six treatments, most customers are satisfied with the results. These effects are permanent, although a touch up may be required from time to time. In some people, complete hair removal may not be attained.
